Happy Independence Day, Nigeria
Happy Independence Day, Nigeria
Today, as we commemorate our nation’s freedom, let us remember that true
independence is sustained not just by history but by justice, responsibility,
and the courage to build better systems.

As lawyers, we are custodians of the rule of law, the very backbone of a free
nation. Every brief we write, every argument we make, and every counsel we
give is a contribution to nation-building.
May this Independence Day remind us that our robes are not just symbols of
profession, but of duty, duty to uphold justice without fear or favour, to defend
the oppressed, and to champion reforms that move Nigeria closer to the
ideals of equity and progress.
Let us renew our commitment to a nation where justice is not a privilege, but
a right.
